Home Bantul Selarong Cave
Selarong Cave is situated about 14 km to the south of Yogyakarta, in Guwosari village Sub District of Pajangan, and on the hill that is planted with many Guiana that characterize the location. In the past this man made cave was used as the headquarter of Prince Diponegoro army in the struggle against the Dutch colonial between 1825-1830.
The interesting sites are Kakung Cave, Putri Cave, waterfall, and Manikmoyo water spring. Beside, visitors can see directly the making process and the hand made wooden crafts such as statues, masks, etc. The area of Selarong Cave is apart from being categorized as the natural object with caves and waterfall, it can also be categorized as cultural tourism and historical when if it is seen from the background the struggle of Prince Diponegoro.
