Mount Merapi Alms is a traditional ritual held annually by local people residing in the mount Merapi slope in Lencoh village, Selo sub-district, Wonogiri regency. The ritual is held on the evening Muharam/Assyuura 1st (Arabic/Javanese 1st month) or January 19th, 2007 and aimed to have a better life in the future. In the ritual, the people will be staying awake all night long and the ritual will be ended up with throwing the buffalo head to the mount Merapi crater. Selo sub-district lies between 2 volcanoes, Merapi and Merbabu, on the route wich connects Selo-Boyolali-Grabag and Magelang.
